- How does Mahogany stand up?

- What is the Industry standard for the thickness of doors?
Exterior Doors are 1-3/4" thick or can be custom built at 2-1/4" thick, if requested. Interior Doors are 1-3/8" thick.
- What is the proper protection for your door?
Your height protection is....Measure from the slab to the bottom of the overhang for the door. The extension of the overhang must be 1/2 of the height measured. The width protection must be the width of the door for each side (if the door is 36" wide, there should be 36" overhang protection for each side).
- How often should I do maintenance on my entry?
You should inspect your entry every 6 months. More often if you do not have the proper overhang for your entry. If you notice any breakdown in the finish, you would need to make plans to do the maintenance as soon as possible. If you wait too long to do your maintenance, dirt and mildew from the elements can get into the wood permanently and you will have a bigger job than expected. Upkeep on your entry is fairly simple if you catch it before the elements get into the wood itself
